Little Rabbit and the Grumpy Poos
In many ways, our children leave home the moment we take them to daycare, nursery, or kindergarten; that mutually vulnerable moment when we let go of their hand for the first time in their life.
We watch with quiet apprehension as they head into their strange new world, through an unfamiliar door – their new world without us.
We have told them daily that they are perfect and that no one compares to them. We have done all we can to arm them for the self-esteem challenges that inevitably lie ahead. And now, everything you have instilled in them will be tested.
Little Rabbit and the Grump Poos was written to help protect and guide our children during this challenging time.
This heartwarming yet empowering story will help guide children to believe in themself while standing up to those who challenge them or compare their talents to your child’s own.
Marita Nizam Bio
Author of Little Rabbit and the Grumpy Poos
Marita is a Toronto-based children’s book author, Early Childhood Educator and mother of two. Little Rabbit and the Grumpy Poos was written after witnessing how negatively impacted her two children were after they first began interacting with negative or non-supportive friends, classmates, and people in general.
She became painfully aware of how vulnerable children are at a young age (3-7 years), simply because they haven't yet developed a healthy and sustaining sense of self.
Working both as a nanny and as an ECE, Marita has enriched children's lives over the years in a compendium of ways and now feels it is her calling to affect change on a broader scale by writing books, visiting classrooms and organizations to talk to parents, caregivers, and teachers who guide children to a better sense of self.
