Meet the Author

Marita is a Toronto-based children’s book author, Early Childhood Educator and mother of two.

Little Rabbit and the Grumpypoos was written after Marita had to witness the devastating effects that negative interactions had on her own children.

She became painfully aware of how vulnerable children are at a young age, simply because they haven’t yet developed a healthy and sustaining sense of self.

Working both as a nanny and an ECE, Marita has enriched children’s lives over the years in a compendium of ways. She now feels it is her calling to affect change on a broader scale by writing books, visiting classrooms and giving talks to teachers and caregivers who can then guide children to a resilient sense of self.
